Pezeshkian stated that Iran remains open to engaging in negotiations, yet emphasized the country’s stance against yielding to coercive tactics
President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed Iran's willingness to engage in diplomatic talks, while underscoring that the Islamic Republic will not succumb to the coercion of dominant powers nor participate in negotiations under pressure.

On Thursday, Pezeshkian addressed concerns regarding US President Donald Trump’s National Security Presidential Memorandum 2, which aims to cut Iran’s crude oil exports to zero, stating, “There is no need for fear of sanctions.”
“There are those who claim that negotiation with the United States is the only viable option,” he stated. “While we have not dismissed the possibility of negotiating, it is imperative that we do not succumb to the pressure exerted by more dominant forces.”
During a meeting with directors of state agencies in the southwestern regions of Tehran Province, he delivered his remarks.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran will refrain from engaging in dialogue with parties that conduct bombings resulting in the deaths of women and children, all the while professing to uphold human rights.
He stated, “They advise us against holding missiles and munitions, ensuring that we’re left defenseless and vulnerable to attacks at their discretion.”
The president asserted that Iran is not in pursuit of conflicts and aims to coexist peacefully and harmoniously with its fellow Muslim nations in the region.
Pezeshkian stated that Iran has not been responsible for escalating tensions in the region, placing direct blame instead on Israel. According to him, it is the Zionist regime that initiates acts of aggression without fear of consequence, as a result of backing from the United States.
He criticized the United States for intensifying anti-Iran sanctions while simultaneously professing a willingness to engage in dialogue.
The imposition of heightened sanctions has been met with a response challenging their sincerity, with demands for tangible proof of openness to dialogue before any constructive negotiations can commence.
The president has issued a call to action for all segments of Iranian society to unite in addressing current challenges and work towards achieving the strategic vision outlined by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The President of Iran emphasized the importance of bolstering economic ties with neighboring nations as a strategy to mitigate the impact of sanctions.
He stated that there is no necessity to bypass sanctions, as strengthening the economy can be achieved through enhanced cooperation with neighboring countries and the expansion of regional trade.
Pezeshkian emphasized the necessity of relaxing border trade rules and regulations to facilitate the seamless export and import of goods by producers and economic stakeholders.
