Iran’s Top Military Leader Vows Defenses in Persian Gulf: ‘No Threat Will Go Unanswered’

Iran's Armed Forces Chief of Staff has reiterated the nation's commitment to defending its national interests and ensuring the security of the Persian Gulf. He emphasized that the forces are "fully prepared" to address any potential situations that may arise.

Major General Mohammad Baqeri, leading a distinguished military delegation, delivered a speech to army commanders upon his arrival in Bandar Abbas on Sunday.

A spokesperson stated that the excursion to the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Sea of Oman is intended to examine the operational status in the region and to appraise the preparedness of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Armed Forces. This includes an evaluation of both the Army and the IRGC Navy’s capabilities in safeguarding Iran’s territorial and international waters, as well as the nation’s resources.

During the visit, essential field evaluations will be carried out to confirm complete preparedness for the implementation of multiple operational strategies, he stated, emphasizing that Iran’s Armed Forces are “maintaining a state of full readiness for any scenario, with no threat going unanswered.”

Iranian authorities have consistently emphasized that the presence of foreign naval forces in the Persian Gulf poses a threat to regional security and obstructs Tehran’s initiatives to secure this strategically crucial area.

Iran perceives the presence of United States military ships in the Persian Gulf as a factor contributing to regional tension and instability.
