President Ahmadinejad: Egyptians, pious and amicable

933721_origIn his way back from Egypt, Iran’s President has said that Egyptian people are pious and amicable. Whenever we went, the people chanted ‘Iran and Egypt should be united.’”
In his return back to Iran from a 4-day visit to Egypt for 18th Islamic Countries Cooperation Conference, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told reports in Mehr Abad International Airport that “this visit happened in a very special and unique situation, and it may not be repeated in the future.”

“For the closing of political relations between Iran and Egypt 34 years ago, those launching attempts to destroy two countries’ relations have failed in attaining their objectives,” he added.

Ahmadinejad described his mission as being important issue of eliminating propagandist and mental obstacles in the way of relations between two great nations of Iran and Egypt.

He pointed to his discussions with Egyptian president Mohammad Morsi in his arrival at Egypt. “We took a good approach for cooperation, and it seems that two countries’ are converged in their attitudes,” he asserted.

Ahmadinejad also pointed to proposal made by Iran on the eliminating the Visa requirement for tourists and traders travels to both countries. “The proposal was effective and the entire world saw solidarity between the masses of two countries,” he said.

“With permission from Iranians, we visited Egyptian pyramids and Sphinx. Egypt is a good tourist destination for Iranians. Egyptians are pious and amicable people, and the atmosphere is friendly and guileless,” the President said.

“Whenever we went, the people chanted ‘Iran and Egypt should be united’,” he added.

Ahmadinejad also said that he required the tourist and pilgrimage organizations to prepare plans to host Egyptian tourists and setting up tours to Egypt. “Egyptian tradesmen will come to extend financial relations,” he added.

“A meeting on the Palestinian issue was also held in the sidelines of the conference, and the participating countries agreed to joint measures to prevent Zionist settlement constructions in the Palestinian lands,” Ahmadinejad stated.

“The important thing was that all countries and Palestinian groups should be united to pursue Palestinian people’s aspirations,” he said.

Ahmadinejad expressed his hope that conditions will be conducive to solve Palestinian issue and their freedom from the Zionist domination.res
