President increases ratio of women in cabinet

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has appointed a woman as his Vice President for Science and Technology amid his attempts to include women in the cabinet.

In a statement issued by the office of President Ahmadinejad, Nasrin Soltankhah was appointed as the vice-president for Science and Technology.

Soltankhah, 46, served as the head of Research and Training Institute for Management and Development Planning at President Deputy Strategic Planning and Control since last year.

Ahmadinejad also expressed appreciation for services rendered to Dr. Sadeq Vaezzadeh, the former Vice President for Science and Technology.
