President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday urged transformation of Iran into technical hub of the oil industry.

According to IRNA, he made the remarks while addressing inauguration ceremony of comprehensive plan of oil industry research center and the unveiling of eight NANO items produced by the center.
He said it was an easy goal for the Iranian researchers to make the country an oil industry’s technical hub.
Stressing the need to adopt a new approach towards the oil-oriented economy, he said it was a must for the country to change its attitude of just digging up oil and then consuming the money earned by selling it.
He believed the Oil Industry Research Center could well function as the most important agent to transform the present attitudes towards the issue of “oil” in the country.
President Ahmadinejad inaugurated the Oil Industry Research Center on the eve of the ten-day long ceremonies marking the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
The center, the construction of which started in 2004, includes 300 labs, 16 research departments and five big semi-industrial units.
Being the best in the Middle East, it is among world’s five top research centers working in this field.
It has produced over 120 innovations and inventions so far.
