President: Iran-Turkey economic convergence helps regionˈs economies

President Hassan Rouhani reiterated that the economic cooperation between Iran and Turkey can help to improvement of economic conditions of the regional countries.

ˈEconomic convergence between Iran and Turkey can be beyond bilateral relations and an incentive for improvement of economic conditions of the regional countries,ˈ President Rouhani said in a dinner banquet with his Turkish counterpart in Ankara on Monday night.

President Rouhani said that Tehran and Ankara can play an effective role in the efforts to stop the violence plaguing the region, adding, “The two regional powerful countries believe in and are determined for cooperation in this field.ˈ

“Extremism and violence are harmful to all countries. Some countries, especially the Western ones, which have helped terrorism in the past… are remorseful now,” he further said.

The Iranian president noted that Iran and Turkey both believe the Middle East should be a zone free of nuclear weapons and all weapons of mass destruction.
