Prominent Cleric urges youth to contemplate Quran

Senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi called on the youth to read and contemplate the verses of the Holy Quran.
“I recommend you, dear youths, to read some verses from the Holy Quran everyday… after prayers, contemplate their meanings and implement their teachings and content in your life,” the grand Shia source of emulation said in a message to the opening ceremony of the Iranian Health Ministry’s Quran and Etrat Festival.

According to Abna, He described the Quran as the book of light, everlasting instruction for humanity’s salvation, and a book that bonds all Muslims in the world together.

Under the current circumstance where some Muslim countries are engulfed in the flames of disputes and conflicts, Muslims need unity and accord in the face of enemies, the cleric said.

He underlined that the best way to achieve unity is acting upon the verse 103 of Surah Al-Imran “And hold fast to the rope of Allah (the Quran) all together and do not become divided.”

The 22nd Quran and Etrat Festival of Iran’s Health Ministry got underway in the southern city of Shiraz on Sunday.
