Prominent Iranian Sunni cleric: Islamic unity spreads culture of dialogue among Islamic countries

Grand Mugfti of Shafe’e Muslims in Iran stressed boosting dialogue among scholars and politicians in different Islamic countries hailing annual Islamic unity conference for increasing solidarity among Muslims.

Mamusta Hessam el Din Mojtahedi, top Iranian Sunni cleric from Sanandaj, in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) noted many issues and clashes in Islamic states and lack of cooperation among these countries are created due to lack of knowledge on different ideologies and stances of scholars as well as politicians.

He added, “Unfortunately enemies of Islam have misused of the same issue and struggle for increasing disagreements and distance scholars from political figures in different countries.”

Grand Mufti reiterated, “Undoubtedly holding conferences and international summits participated by politicians, scholars and elites from different Islamic countries and also continuation of cooperation and interaction among them paves the way for alleviation of extremism, disharmonies and issues across the world of Islam.”

Mamusta Mojtahedi noted,” As a blessing of the Islamic Revolution in Iran we are witness to the unified view of the people across Iran and this has been achieved in the light of the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.”

He also referred to the theme for the upcoming Islamic Unity Conference and said,” Qur’an is the constitution for all Muslims and with reference to Qur’anic teachings we can guarantee happiness and transcendence of the Islamic society.”

Mamusta Mojtahedi added, “Qur’an and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) are among the unifying axes for all Muslims and enemies spare no effort to distance Muslims from these unifying principles; hence, one of the most important issues for all Muslims is to feel responsible towards these principles which are fortunately set as the theme for the upcoming Islamic Unity Conference.”
