Qalibaf Warns of Foreign Attempts to Incite Division in Iran through Disinformation Campaigns

Speaker of Parliament Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has stated that adversaries are seeking to sow discord among the Iranian populace.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has stated that adversaries are trying to sow discord among Iranians by spreading false news and misinformation.

In a parliamentary session on Sunday, Qalibaf commented that Trump is exerting considerable effort to intimidate the Iranian populace.

He remarked that the rationale behind the United States initiating conflict with Iran during ongoing negotiations remains unresolved.

According to the speaker, every remark by Trump serves as either a tactic of psychological warfare aimed at instilling despair and fear among the Iranian populace and disrupting the calculations of the nation’s officials, or as an inconsequential statement intended solely to garner attention.

He emphasized that the Iranian people will consistently unite to confront adversaries and dismantle their schemes.

In additional comments, Qalibaf commended the Iranian populace for their “historic turnout” during the funeral of 60 individuals who perished in the recent conflict against Iran. The event was held in Tehran, the nation’s capital, on Saturday.

Among the over 600 fatalities recorded during the 12-day conflict between the United States and Israel, which commenced on June 13, were the victims.

Israel initiated military actions just three days prior to scheduled discussions between Iran and the United States concerning Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

On June 22, Washington escalated its hostilities by launching airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, specifically targeting Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.

The Iranian Armed Forces delivered a robust response to the US-Israeli offensive, targeting strategic locations within the Israeli-occupied territories and causing significant destruction. Hostilities ceased after a ceasefire was announced on June 24.
