QUDS DAY’25: Millions participate in Quds Day rallies to express solidarity with Palestinians in the context of ongoing zionist atrocities

Millions globally, including significant numbers in Iran, have mobilized in observance of International Quds Day, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemning what they describe as Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip.

Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif, spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and head of the Intifada committee in Tehran, announced that demonstrations commenced at 10:00 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) and are taking place in over 900 cities nationwide.

Protesters hailing from diverse backgrounds and social classes gathered, waving the national flags of Iran and Palestine. They carried placards emblazoned with the slogans “Free Palestine” and “Al-Quds must be liberated,” underscoring their call for action.

Demonstrators carried an array of flags representing various regional resistance groups, notably including Iraq’s anti-terror Popular Mobilization Units, widely recognized as Hashd al-Sha’abi; Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement; and Yemen’s Ansarullah.

Mass demonstrations have been organized across numerous nations in the West Asian region, including Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon, among other countries worldwide.

Senior Iranian figures are present at the rally in Tehran, where Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the Speaker of Parliament, is poised to deliver a speech.

Al-Quds Day, often referred to as Quds Day, is observed globally each year on the final Friday of Ramadan. The event is intended to show solidarity with Palestine and protest against the Israeli presence in Palestinian territories.

Massive demonstrations have been organized in response to ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, inaugurated Quds Day in 1979, soon after the Islamic Revolution, as a demonstration of support for the Palestinian cause. Over the years, this day has evolved into a powerful emblem of resistance.
