Is It Any Wonder The Muslim World Is Angry?

Muslim World
An inflammatory anti-Muslim film produced and promoted by a collection of right-wing Christian Evangelicals and exiled Egyptian Copts is assumed to be responsible for prompting riots and acts of terrorism that resulted in an attack on the Libyan Embassy in Benghazi which led in the deaths of 30 people including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens and three other Americans (link: http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2012/09/12) and an attack on the U.S. embassy in Cairo were created with the intention of destabilizing post-Mubarak Egypt and roiling the U.S. Presidential election (link: http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2012/09/13-7).
The amateurish, pernicious hate-filled production titled “The Innocence of Muslims” was originally reported as being produced by a Jewish Israeli real estate developer living in California who, using an alias of Sam Becile, raised $5 million for production of the film from “100 Jewish donors,” a claim which echoes protocols of the Elders of Zion-style fantasies. The claim is hardly surprising given the extensive history of Israeli and ultra-Zionist funding and promotion of Islamaphobic propaganda in the U.S. to fuel politics of hate.

Originally, the Israeli Government could not confirm the citizenship of Sam Becile, but the alias was eventually traced to Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, a militant Coptic Seperatist and felon convicted of check fraud. Nakoula, whose latest scam involves the production of “The Innocence of Muslims,” went into hiding once his amateurish film appeared on the internet (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32425.htm). Eventually, after days of rioting and violence in the Muslim world, Nakoula was arrested (link: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2012/09/innocence-of-muslims-filmmaker-ordered-to-jail-by-judge.html).

Anti-Muslim Crusade takes cues from Racist Pro-Israel Right-Wing Whack Jobs

An actor in the Nakoula’s hate film claimed the all-volunteer case was duped into believing they were acting in a biblical epic about how things were 2000 years ago. Originally the script was titled Desert Warrior and made no mention of Muhammad — who was portrayed as, among other things, a promiscuous, philandering leech, a child molester advocate, a bumbling idiot, and a bloodthirsty goon – until post-production at which time he was dubbed into the hate-filled propaganda piece and a casting notice for Desert Warrior listed the director as Alan Roberts.

Before it was revealed that Nakoula produced the inflammatory hate piece, the only person to publicly claim any role in it was Steve Klein, an insurance salesman and Vietnam veteran who supported the Islamaphobic movement that produced Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik. Anti-Muslim crusaders like Klein take their cues from racist Pro-Israel right-wing whack jobs like Pamela Gellar and Robert Spencer (link: http://www.alternet.org/print/when-right-wing-crazy-backfires-5-ways-racist-pro-israel-ads-make-right-look-hateful-idiots) who have both been labeled as hate group leaders by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Klein — who also has deep ties to many other right-wing whack jobs and far-right Christian right activists and Tea Party types in the anti-Islam movement (link: http://www.alternet.org/print/belief/10-most-dangerous-religious-right-organizations) — has been involved in many Islamaphobic vendettas and obsesses over the Muslim Brotherhood, waged a violent response to his delusional perceived threat of Islam in the United States.

With the U.S. elections looming and the Egyptian Government under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood, Klein joined Nakoula in preparing the hateful propaganda piece that is “The Innocence of Muslims” and promoted it on YouTube to encourage outrage in the Middle East (link: http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2012/09/13-7). YouTube has since removed the video and it does not appear that anything other than a trailer of the “film” exists (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32548.htm).

Right-Wing hate Campaign is Ignorant and Spiteful

The goal of Nakoula and Klein’s blasphemous libel and anti-Muslim mockery was not to elicit hatred was not to elicit hatred from Muslims towards Westerners. This is not Islamaphobia. Rather, it is Islam-bashing to rile up Muslims toward specific targets — the U.S. and its allies. The hateful right-wing propaganda piece had no impact on YouTube until it was aired by the Arabic Salafist television station Al-Nas. Once it was aired, Salafist groups reacted violently, but instead of attacking the TV station or its Saudi sponsors, they decided to attack American diplomatic representatives.

The U.S. State Department was warned two days before it aired that several of its embassies would be attacked on September 11th but the warning was not taken seriously and diplomatic personnel were not notified of the threat. Missiles were used in the attack on the Libyan embassy and it has since been discovered that behind the Benghazi mob was a commando who was prepared to attack the Consulate and the fortified villa used as a safe house in the event of a serious crisis. U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens was targeted because he was known for his American Imperialist and anti-Zionist views.

Nakoula’s right-wing driven hate campaign follows the dystopian protests over the “Mosque at Ground Zero,” Pastor Terry Jones of Gainesville, Florida’s promoting “International Burn-a-Koran Day” (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32549.htm) and a host of other right-wing Conservative hate campaigns which are ignorant and spiteful. The U.S. Government officially condemns Islamaphobia, but its actions over the past several decades — particularly the past 11 years — tell a different story. It’s easy for the actions of fanatic right-wing extremists to be dismissed by the U.S. because its Government is overrun with Zionist right-wing fanatics (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article24236.htm) who are hell bent on maintaining never-ending war in the Muslim world as revealed by its foreign policy.

Is it any Wonder the Muslim World is Angry?

To the U.S. corporate press (link: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article32163.htm), much of which is owned by right-wing extremists, portraying “Muslim rage” is so much easier than thinking (link: http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/09/25-6), and what’s missing should be front and center in our national discussion of foreign policy. But instead of engaging in discussion about U.S. foreign policy, corporate media pushes their own agendas to keep facts and the truth hidden. The violence and terrorism in Libya and a few other Middle Eastern countries on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11 was the result of moribund religious right-wing extremists desperate to reassert its dwindling influence, not a spontaneous uprising of an angry populace. People also took to the street to detest the killing of Ambassador Stevens, but the pusillanimous corporate press (link: http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/09/26-0) focused on “Muslim rage.” Murdering American staff over a hate film is an unmitigated wrong but as are the many deaths caused by the U.S. that go unremarked (link: http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/09/12-7).

A functional Democracy requires having an informed public, but Americans are not getting the News they need from local TV to make informed decisions in the age of Big-Money. In lieu of important News, the U.S. public gets propaganda from a political system whose players constantly chase dollars gamed to the point of dysfunction by wealthy, undisclosed donors and media corporations who receive billions of dollars in profits for deceiving the public (link: http://www.freepress.net/left-dark-in-the-dark). Conservative right-wing politics of hate are dangerous (link: http://www.alternet.org/print/election-2012/how-rights-latest-conspiracy-theory-might-unleash-wave-domestic-terrorism-if-obama) and those who perpetrate them need to be held accountable for the repercussions that emanate from their pernicious actions.

The perception that Muslims hate us for our freedom is wrong and the U.S. learned little from 9/11. Angry Muslims from Bangladesh to Yemen are rioting because — among other things — they hate Christianity, America’s Global Hegemony, and Democracy (link: http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/09/28-7). Nakoula’s right-wing hate campaign video was portrayed as merely the spark that ignited anti-Americanism around the world. But in reality, the U.S. Government’s imperium goal to advance its own fraudulent strategic economic and political agendas while keeping much of the planet under its influence, controlling most of the Arab and greater Muslim world using petty puppets and potentates as surrogates while covertly building armies of native troops – some of which, like Al Qaida, are later labeled as terrorists – to achieve its end goals for the past several decades is responsible for sparking anti-Americanism in the Middle East.

The riots still spreading across the Muslim world are a result of anger at America, not terrorism or religious fanatics, though religious right-wing fanatics who are anti-America are definitely involved, particularly in Pakistan, and the U.S. military and the CIA have been waging military operations and assassinations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and Libya. Is it any wonder the Muslim world is so angry?
