Rafsanjani: Int’l Quds Day Rallies Boost Palestinians’ Morale

13920511000272_PhotoIExpediency Council Chairman and former Iranian President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani appreciated the Iranian people for taking part in the International Quds Day rallies, saying that this support will boost the morale of the oppressed Palestinians for continuing their resistance.
Rafsanjani said the rallies is a necessity thanks to the initiative of the late Imam Khomeini, adding that public support is so much important under present conditions when Palestinians are under difficult conditions.

He made the remarks on Friday on the sidelines of the International Quds Day rallies in Tehran where many Iranians from all walks of life had participated in the event.

Millions of Iranians took to the streets in all Iranian cities across the country on the International Quds Day to voice support for the Palestinian nation against the Israeli regime.

Iranians across the country, including in the capital Tehran, alongside other people around the world are holding massive anti-Israel rallies on the last Friday of Ramadan in opposition to the continued occupation of the Palestinian land by Israel.

The International Quds Day was started by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, in 1979 as a way of expressing solidarity with the Palestinians and underscoring importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.

International Quds Day is an annual event opposing Israel’s occupation of Beitul-Muqaddas. Anti-Zionist rallies and demonstrations are held on the last Friday of Ramadan in Muslim and Arab countries around the world, and especially in Iran.
