Militants failed in their large-scale offensive on Syrian army positions in the Eastern countryside of Hama, military sources in the province said.
The sources said that the rebel groups’ attempts to infiltrate into al-Sabbourah-Etheria, SyriaTel, and al-Rihraha areas in Hama Eastern countryside were foiled by the Syrian army men.

The sources added that scores of militants were killed or wounded by the army troops in the abovementioned battle.

Last week, the Syrian Army pushed back rebel groups in several battlefields in the Northern and Northwestern parts of Hama province.

The sources said that dozens of rebels were killed and wounded in the army’s operations in Kastoon village and the militiamen retreated from the area leaving better positions for the Syrian soldiers.

The sources said that the liberation of Kastoon village’s nearby areas from the rebels’ control will help the army monitor and confront any movement of the insurgent groups.

Syria has been faced massive insurgency since 2011. Damascus has always reiterated that the solution to the crisis is only political based on an inter-Syrian dialogue and led by Syria without foreign interference.
