Recent satellite imagery exposes the significant destruction caused by Iran’s extensive missile strike on an ‘israeli’ F-35 airbase

Recent satellite imagery reveals significant damage to the roof of an aircraft hangar at a crucial Israeli military airbase housing US-made F-35 fighter jets. The damage appears to be the result of a substantial barrage of ballistic missiles launched by Iran targeting bases of the Israeli forces.

On Tuesday evening, Iran initiated a significant military action by launching approximately 200 ballistic missiles targeting military and intelligence installations within Israel, in what has been called Operation True Promise II. This retaliatory move led to widespread activation of warning sirens across the occupied Palestinian territories, prompting residents in Israel to seek refuge in underground shelters.

The highly awaited operation was launched following the assassinations of prominent figures, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Hezbollah’s chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan, an Iranian military advisor, in Beirut.

On Wednesday, a report by the Associated Press unveiled satellite imagery of the Nevatim airbase, situated in the Israeli-occupied regions of southern Israel, which depicted extensive damage to the roofs of multiple structures near the primary runway. The images also showed large amounts of debris dispersed across the vicinity.

Nevatim Air Base serves as the home to the Israeli Air Force’s cutting-edge fleet, notably featuring the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter jets, which are manufactured in the United States.

A sprawling airbase, encompassing four runways and spanning approximately 50 square kilometers, is situated in the Negev desert, positioned 15 kilometers east of Beersheba and 12 kilometers north of Dimona.

The facility is home to three squadrons of F-35 stealth fighter jets, specifically the 140th, 116th, and 117th, all manufactured in the United States. Additionally, it houses C-130 transport aircraft, Boeing 707 tanker aircraft, and various reconnaissance aircraft.

Multiple videos, numbering at least seven, have emerged depicting direct impacts from an estimated 20 to 30 Iranian ballistic missiles. These strikes resulted in significant damage to the military base, with certain reports indicating the destruction of over 20 jet fighters.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Israeli military confirmed that several of its airbases were targeted in a missile attack carried out by Iran. The military reported that the assault caused damage to office buildings and various maintenance facilities located within the bases.

The statement asserted that there was no damage inflicted on fighter jets, drones, other aircraft, munitions, or critical infrastructure. Furthermore, it maintained that the operational capabilities of the Israeli Air Force remained unaffected.

Earlier today, Iran’s Defense Minister, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, announced that the operation has achieved over 90 percent success.

He announced that Operation True Promise II was executed with an over 90 percent success rate and adhered entirely to international legal standards.

Iran’s targets exclusively included military installations, as emphasized by Nasirzadeh, who noted that the strikes successfully impacted three military bases and one intelligence and espionage center associated with the Israeli regime.
