Rohani underlines clerics role in creation of political epic

Iran’s President-elect, Hojjatoleslam Hassan Rohani, has emphasized the role played by Ulema and clerics to create a political epic on the Election Day.

According to IRIB, addressing a group of Ulema and clerics, he said in Tehran Wednesday that the political epic was a source of pride, as pursued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Rohan urged for Ulema and clerics’ prayer and advice for the better management of the country’s affairs, and said: “the people foiled the plots hatched in a bid to damage the status of clerics in the society and showed that they consider this status beyond political spectrum.”
He further reiterated that the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the triumphant of the Sacred Defense, and surmounting different ups and downs after the Revolution all were indebted to the people’s presence, noting that the Founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) and all clerics have always relied on the masses to achieve success.
The president-elect said that the people should be present at the scene to help find due solutions to various problems and that the government is only a facilitator and organizer.
