Saudi-backed Bahraini regime forces have shot and injured an opposition member in the village of Sitra, south of the capital Manama, Press TV reports.

The attack took place during a peaceful protest late on Sunday when Bahraini soldiers targeted the activist, Sadiq Rabiee, with birdshots.

Reports say he is now in a stable condition.
