Saudi delegation engaged in discussions with the leader of HTS terror gang
A delegation from Saudi Arabia engaged in negotiations with Abu Mohammad al-Julani, the leader of the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militant group, during a meeting in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

In a report by the Saudi-affiliated Al Arabiya news channel, headquartered in Riyadh, it was revealed that a Saudi delegation led by a Royal Court advisor held a meeting at the People’s Palace, a mountaintop presidential residence, on Sunday.
Details of the meeting remain undisclosed, with both parties abstaining from releasing an immediate statement.
Earlier this week, Julani announced that Saudi Arabia and Syria are eager to develop a collaborative strategy for Damascus, focusing on cooperation and economic advancement.
During an interview with the Arabic newspaper Asharq al-Awsat, he expressed admiration for the advancements made by Persian Gulf nations, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s ambitious plans and vision. He stated that Syria seeks to emulate such progress.
This interview represents his inaugural discussion with a Saudi media outlet subsequent to the militant-led takeover of Damascus by his organization on December 8.
He stated that there are numerous prospects for collaboration, particularly in the realms of economic and developmental sectors, where aligning objectives is possible.
