Local Units Formed in Raqqa to Drive Out US-Backed SDF Terrorists

The tribal Arab forces in Raqqa province have formed a number of units to fight against the Kurds who have occupied the city and are supported by Washington.

The forces formed under the title of the Popular Resistance of Raqqa (PRoR) are now recruiting forces to start fights against Kurdish militias.

A large number of civilians who were killed during the operations by the Kurds and the US-led anti-ISIL coalition in Raqqa were members of these tribes.

The Kurdish forces have also been busy with forced recruitment among the civilians after occupation of Raqqa.

A large number of people in the city of Raqqa took to the streets late February in opposition to the US troops’ buildup in their city, accusing the US military forces and their allied militants of destroying their city and also executing large groups of civilians.

The protestors vowed not to cooperate with the US troops, and warned that they will continue to show their disagreement with the US forces’ occupation and disintegration of Syria in demonstrations and strikes.

The Russian Defense Ministry said early March that the only areas in Syria where the requirements of UN Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2401 are completely ignored and there is no help for the population remains the destroyed city of Raqqa, as well as the Al-Rukban refugee camp in the US-controlled area of al-Tanf.

Syrian permanent representative to the United Nations Bashar al-Jaafari told the UN Security Council mid-February that the US-led Coalition to defeat the Daesh (ISIS or ISIL) terrorist group has intentionally destroyed 90 percent of Syria’s town of Raqqa.

Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya had also stressed mid-January the humanitarian situation in Syria’s Raqqa was close to a disaster, though everyone was putting the best face on matters.

A stronghold of the ISIL terrorist group, Raqqa was liberated in mid October by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
