Kashmirs condemn Israeli aggression

Thousands in the Indian-administered Kashmir have protested against the deadly Israeli attack on the Gaza-bound aid ships that killed 20 peace activists in international waters.

The protesters marched toward in Srinagar’s landmark Lal Chowk in a bid to show their solidarity with Gaza Flotilla victims on Sunday.

However, hundreds of policemen at the site prevented them from reaching the spot, Reuters reported.

The crowd chanted anti-US and Israeli slogans to express their anger over the fatal incident. They also denounced the acts of onslaught committed by Israel and Washington’s failure to condemn Tel Aviv.

Earlier in New Delhi, thousands of Muslims and Hindus staged a protest against Israel, calling on the international community to intervene.

At least 20 activists were killed and hundreds more injured in the May 31 attack.

The Freedom Flotilla was seeking to break the crippling blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip by Israel and deliver necessities to the impoverished Palestinians living in the coastal enclave.

India has repeatedly condemned the Israeli military reprisals against Palestinians.

On Saturday, several other cities around the globe witnessed anti-Israeli demonstrations. Hundreds gathered in front of the White House, protesting against Washington’s support for Tel Aviv.

In Dublin, hundreds of people participated in a demonstration against the Saturday seizure of the Rachel Corrie aid boat.

In Paris, thousands of people, including members of the French Jewish Union for Peace, decried the Israeli attacks on the Freedom Flotilla.

In London, thousands of protestors donned T-shirts with slogans such as “Free Gaza” outside the British prime minister’s official residence on Downing Street before proceeding to the Israeli Embassy.

Protests also took place in Istanbul, Turkey, as thousands of people came to the streets, burning Israeli flags.
