A senior security official underlined that the rising differences among Iraqi political parties has resulted in spate of terrorist acts in the Arab country.

“The deterioration of security conditions in Baghdad is the outcome of weakened military command of Baghdad operations and also the existing political problems of Iraq,” Sa’ad al-Motalebi told FNA on Wednesday.

He urged the Baghdad command center to take immediate and serious measures to prevent the deterioration of security conditions in Baghdad, and said, “If the Baghdad command center does not do anything, we will witness a rise in terrorist attacks in the Iraqi capital in the near future.”

At least 77 people were killed and more than 140 wounded by three bombings in Baghdad on Tuesday, extending the deadliest spate of attacks in the Iraqi capital so far this year.

The ISIL claimed a suicide bombing which killed 41 people and wounded more than 70 in the Northern district of al-Shaab as well as a car bomb in nearby Sadr City that left at least 30 dead and 57 wounded, police and medical sources said.

Another car blew up in al-Rasheed, South of the capital, killing six and wounding 21, the sources said.
