Senior Judiciary Official: Iran Ready to Foil Enemies’ Plots in Election Time

Iran’s Judiciary Spokesman and Prosecutor-General Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeii underlined the preparedness of the Iranian intelligence and security forces to confront enemy’s plots during the upcoming presidential election in June.

Mohseni Ejeii pointed to the enemy’s efforts to create a chaotic atmosphere in the country during the upcoming election, and said, “Our security and intelligence forces have deprived the enemies of any opportunity to prepare themselves.”

He noted that Iran’s armed forces, including the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), are prepared to confront any plot or threat, adding that Iran’s intelligence apparatus is stronger than before.

Mohseni Ejeii pointed to the enemies’ cultural war against Iran, and said, launching satellite channels, conducting official and unofficial propaganda against Iran, assassination plots, planning bomb blasts and street violence are among the plots hatched by the enemies to hit Iran at the time of the election.

“Today, the law enforcement forces are fully prepared to confront those involved in deception or insecurity,” he added.

Mohseni Ejeii underlined that the Iranian interior ministry is fully ready to hold elections under vibrant and secure conditions, adding, “But we consider none of enemy moves and plans as to be weak or unworthy of attention and we should be vigilant …”

Last month, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said that enemy states are exercising plots to discourage the Iranian nation from participating in the upcoming presidential election, but to no avail.

“The aliens first sought to cancel the election, but now that they can’t do so, they are trying to discourage the people (from voting), cool the election and affect the people’s choice,” Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a large gathering of the Iranian people in Tehran.

He said discouraging the people is one of the enemies’ main tactics in election, and said, “They want to inspire the public opinion with the idea that voting and participating in the election is of no use.”

Ayatollah Khamenei warned that the enemy wants to coax the Iranian nation into electing a person who will push the country towards dependence, weakness, backwardness in different fields and put Iran on the path of compliance with the aliens’ policies. Yet, the Leader underlined that the Iranian nation is wise and vigilant and will elect the best person for ruling the country as president.
