Iran, victim of Israel-backed terror

Iranian Presidential Advisor Gholam Hossein Elham says the Islamic Republic has been a victim of terrorism supported by Israel more than any other country.

The West, backed by Zionism, has put Islamophobia on its agenda and has killed both Shia and Sunni Muslims in support of terrorist groups, Elham said on Monday, IRNA reported.

He pointed to terrorist attacks in Iran during recent months and years, including a deadly attack on a religious ceremony in southeastern Iranian city of Chabahar in Sistan-Baluchestan Province on December 15, 2010, and said the blood of the Shia and Sunni Muslims in Iran would defeat the enemies of humanity.

At least 39 mourners were killed and nearly 90 wounded in a terrorist attack that took place at the Imam Hussein Mosque in the city of Chabahar, where people were commemorating the martyrdom of the third Imam, Imam Hussein (PBUH).

The Pakistan-based Jundallah terrorist group claimed responsibility for the deadly Chabahar attack.

Iran said perpetrators behind the attack were trained and equipped by foreign elements in neighboring Pakistan, urging Islamabad to step up efforts to curb terror traffic.

Elham concluded that massacre and assassination of Muslims are religiously banned in Islam.
