Syria in Last 24 Hours: Jeish al-Fatah’s Attacks on Army Positions Repelled in Aleppo Province

The Jeish al-Fatah terrorists were pushed back from their strongholds in Aleppo province.

Scores of Takfiri terrorists were killed and wounded in tough battle with the Syrian government forces.

The Syrian army and popular force also continued their military gains in other key provinces across Syria.

Aleppo

The Syrian army and popular forces repelled Jeish al-Fatah’s assaults on the government forces’ strongholds in Southern Aleppo, after the country’s warplanes pounded the defense lines of the Takfiri terrorist group.

The Syrian army men, backed up by the Air Force, fended off Jeish al-Fatah’s assaults on government forces’ strongholds near the village of Khalseh, which ended in the killing or wounding of tens of the militants.

The Syrian fighter jets played a crucial role in bombing of the terrorists’ supply lines in Southern Aleppo.

In the meantime, the National Defense Forces’ tanks stormed gatherings of the militant groups in Jam’iyat al-Zahra neighborhood in Aleppo city and destroyed them badly, which meantime claimed the lives of several militants.

Reports said earlier on Friday that the Syrian Army troops and National Defense Forces stormed terrorists’ defense lines in Northern Lattakia and pushed them back from several more villages and heights after hours of non-stop battle.

The Syrian government forces struck the positions of al-Nusra Front, Jeish al-Turkmen and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Hayat Tower to the West of the village of Shahroureh in Turkmen mountain and forced the terrorist groups to take full control over the tower after a short-time but intense battle.

In addition to capturing the Hayat Tower, the Syrian Armed Forces also took control of Shayr al-Nimr, Majbal Abu ‘Ali, and Naourah after the militants abandoned their positions in order to flee to the Turkish border.

Meantime, the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) repelled joint offensive of Ahrar al-Sham and al-Nusra Front on their positions in key districts of Aleppo city, inflicting a heavy death toll on the militants.

The clashes erupted after the terrorist groups attacked on the YPG strongholds in Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo, but the strong defense of the Kurdish fighters caused the militants to leave the battlefield.

Dara’a

The Syrian and Russian warplanes, in four sorties of joint airstrikes, pounded the terrorists’ concentration centers near the town of al-Sowareh, slowing down the militant groups’ movements in the Southern part of the country.

Several members of the terrorist groups were killed or wounded and their military hardware was damaged in the Syrian and Russian air raids.

The bombardments were enough heavy to slow down the terrorists military machine in the region.

Also, the Syrian Army troops tracked and targeted the al-Nusra Front’s monitoring position West of Dara’a and the terrorist group’s bomb-making workshop East of the city, inflicting major losses on the militants’ sites.

The Syrian soldiers targeted monitoring and reconnaissance position of al-Nusra terrorists East of al-Khuder Hill, 7km East of Dara’a city, which ended in the destruction of the position completely with all arms and ammunition inside the position.

Homs

The Syrian military forces fended off ISIL’s attacks on their positions Northeast of Palmyra (Tadmur), forcing the terrorist group to pull back forces.

The ISIL failed to penetrate into the government forces’ strongholds in Eastern Homs and left behind scores of dead members after facing the army’s strong defense.

The Syrian army’s artillery units, meantime, shelled the militants’ gatherings in Talbiseh, al-Rastan and near Jubb al-Jarrah, which ended in the killing or wounding of several terrorist.

The Syrian government forces, for their part, continue to hunt the ISIL terrorists along the road connecting Palmyra to al-Sukhnah and towards Arak.

Hama

The Syrian fighter jets, in a fresh round of combat sorties, targeted the strongholds of al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front on Northern Hama, pinning down the militants behind their defense lines, military sources announced.

The ISIL concentration centers and gatherings near the small town of Atshan came under massive bombardments of the Syrian Army aircraft,” the sources said adding, “At least five members of the Takfiri group were killed and several more were wounded in the attacks.”

“The Syrian airstrikes slowed down the militant group’s military movements in the region,” the source went on to say.

“Nine terrorists were killed in the clashes. Also, fourteen others were wounded and taken hostage by our units,” YPG spokesman Hassan Jammo said.

“Al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham started their offensive by firing mortar shells on residential buildings in Sheikh Maqsoud,” the Kurdish official added.

Lattakia

The Syrian Army troops and popular forces continued to hit the strongholds of the terrorist groups in Northern Lattakia and pushed the militants back from more heights in the mountainous regions near the border with Turkey.

The Syrian government forces’ operation in Northern Lattakia ended in the seizure of Nawwara region and meantime claimed the lives of several militants.

Also, the Syrian army men engaged in heavy fighting with al-Nusra Front in al-Nimer region and forced the militants to retreat from the battlefield after leaving behind scores of the dead and wounded members.

In al-Naima region, East of Dara’a city, the Syrian army men destroyed a den used by al-Nusra terrorists for manufacturing the explosive devices and bombs.

Raqqa

The Syrian Army troops fended off ISIL’s attacks their strongholds along a main road to Raqqa, forcing the terrorist group to retreat from the battlefield under heavy fire.

The ISIL’s attacks on government positions at al-Rasafeh crossroad on the Ithriya-Raqqa road were fully repelled by the Syrian army men.

The ISIL suffered a heavy death toll and its military equipment also sustained major damage in their unsuccessful assaults.
