Palestinian Martyred, 3 Zionist Israeli Officers Injured in Alleged Car-Ramming Attack in Kafr Qasim

A Palestinian young man was martyred and three Israeli occupation police officers were wounded after being allegedly rammed by a vehicle in Palestinian town of Kafr Qasim, east of Tel Aviv, during the pre-dawn hours of Friday morning.

Israeli occupation police claimed that its officers were responding to a false report of a violent incident, where a man attempted to open fire on them, before later ramming a car into some officers, leaving them injured, according to al-Jazeera.

Occupation Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai said Friday morning that “the officers reacted fast and prevented a larger attack planned against police forces,” The Times of Israel reported.

Palestinian sources confirmed a Palestinian young man was martyred, with local media identifying him as Naim Bdeir.

Family members of the man killed on Friday were quoted by the Palestinian Arab 48 website as denying police allegations that the man had been attempting to attack the officers.

Kafr Qasim city is infamous as the site of a massacre committed by Israeli occupation police in 1956, when 48 Palestinians, including 23 children, as well as an unborn child, were martyred.

Friday’s incident is the latest in what has been a deadly year for Palestinians.

More than 200 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli occupation forces in 2022, including about 150 in the West Bank, the vast majority during the near-daily raids conducted by the Israeli occupation army.

More than 30 Israelis have also been killed in retaliatory attacks by Palestinians that included stabbings, shootings and ramming of cars.
