At least seven people have lost their lives in two separate bombings around the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

According to Iraqi police officials on Friday, four people were killed while eight others suffered injuries in a bomb explosion near an outdoor market in the town of Tarmiyiah, some 50 kilometers north of Baghdad.

The officials, who were speaking on condition of anonymity, further said that at least three more people fell victim to a separate bomb attack in the town of Mahmoudiyah, south of the capital city. Nine people also sustained injuries in that blast.

Iraqi medical officials confirmed the casualties as well.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the deadly attacks, but they bear the hallmarks of similar assaults by the ISIL Takfiri terrorists who currently control parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria.

On Thursday, a car bomb went off near the Iraqi city of Balad, killing at least eight people and injuring 16 others, authorities say.

Police and a local official in Balad in the northern Salahuddin province said the bomb attack occurred near a crowd of pilgrims commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali al-Hadi (PBUH), and killed at least eight people, injuring 16 others.

The deadly incident reportedly took place when the pilgrims were returning from the holy shrine of Imam Ali al-Hadi (PBUH) in Samarra, which lies 110 kilometers north of Baghdad.

The ISIL terrorists have committed heinous crimes and threatened all communities, including Shias, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians and others in Iraq.

Their attacks have intensified over the past months as the Iraqi government continues to purge major towns and cities across the country from the terrorists.

ISIL started its campaign of terror in Iraq in early June 2014. The heavily-armed militants took control of Mosul in the north before sweeping through parts of the country’s Sunni Arab heartland.
