Syrian Army Advances in Aleppo Southwestern Countryside, Retakes Tal Hidya

The Syrian army and allies continued advancing in Aleppo southern countryside on Friday, inflicting heavy casualties and material losses upon the terrorist organizations.

The Syrian army controlled Ikarda hill which is 500 meters away from Aleppo-Damascus highway.

The military units, joined by popular defense groups and allied forces, had established control over the whole area of Tal Hidya town west of al-Eis in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo province, and managed to cut off the Aleppo-Damascus-Narya highway.

The army, moreover, had sent warnings to the armed groups that any movement on the highway will be a new military target.

The Syrian national military also seized control over the towns of Banes and Rasm al-Sahreej towns of the al-Eis city, as well as Tal Bajer, Tleilat, Maryouda, and Khirbet al-Kousa in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo province, amid collapses within the terrorists’ ranks.

The terrorist organizations in those areas suffered heavy losses in personnel and equipment, with a number of their heavy machinegun-equipped vehicles getting destroyed, according to the source.

Today’s new achievement came hours after several other areas came in the army’s hands, including the strategic al-Eis hill and al-Hader city, in addition to Tallet al-Arbaeen, Khirbet al-Mazare, Khirbet Nizha and Khirbet al-Mshaweh.

The source noted that the army units and the popular defense groups continued hunting down the terrorists in the southwestern countryside to ensure its full security.

In Daraa, Syrian army units destroyed a vehicle equipped with a heavy machinegun and loaded with arms and ammunition for al-Nusra Front terrorists in the direction of Hamidet al-Taher-al-Nazihin Camp in the southern Daraa province.

A number of al-Nusra terrorists were killed or injured and their arms and weapons were destroyed in an army operation in Ataman town, 5km north of Daraa city.
