Seyed Ali Madanizadeh Appointed as New Iran Economy Minister

Seyyed Ali Madanizadeh has been appointed as Iran's Economy Minister after receiving the majority vote in the session held by Iran's Parliament.

Madanizadeh, born in 1982 in Iran, has emerged as a leading authority in the field of economics, gaining prominence in recent years.

He possesses a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, another master’s in computational mathematics from Stanford University, and has earned a doctorate in economics from the University of Chicago.

Madanizadeh serves as the president of Sharif University of Technology, where he specializes in macroeconomics, monetary and fiscal policies, international trade, and industrial structures. These subjects form the cornerstone of both his academic teaching and research endeavors.

His executive experience is both expansive and varied. Some of the most significant aspects include:

– Director of the Modeling Group at the Monetary and Banking Research Institute of Iran’s Central Bank (CBI).

Economic advisor at Iran’s Planning and Budget Organization (PBO)

– Executive Board Member of the Information Technology Organization of Iran

– A member of the Central Bank of Iraq’s Liquidity Committee

– A representative of the Monetary and Credit Council Commission

– Head of significant initiatives aimed at overhauling the budget framework and revising the Central Bank of Iraq law
