Shahran and Rey Oil Depots in Tehran Extinguished After Israeli Air Strikes Caused Blaze

The director of the supply and distribution department at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) announced that fire brigades have successfully extinguished fires at two significant oil depots in Tehran, which occurred after Israeli strikes. He emphasized that operations at fuel stations throughout the Iranian capital are continuing without disruption.

An interview with the state-run Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) on Sunday afternoon revealed that the Rey and Shahran oil storage facilities were targeted by several micro aerial vehicles, reportedly of Israeli origin. Ali Akbar Arab-Ameri conveyed that technicians promptly responded to the situation as the depots play a vital role in providing fuel to multiple areas of Tehran. Appropriate measures have since been implemented.

He stated that decisive actions were taken in the initial minutes to tackle the fire, with top priority given to extinguishing the blaze and preventing its spread to adjacent depots.

A senior Iranian energy official stated that fuel stations in Tehran are operating as usual, with the supply and distribution of oil derivatives proceeding smoothly.

Arab-Ameri has confirmed that the fuel supply process is operating without any obstacles, with two depots at the affected storage facilities now back in service.

In the early hours of Monday, June 15, the Shahran and Rey oil depots in Tehran were reportedly targeted and set on fire in two distinct attacks attributed to Israeli forces.

Israeli airstrikes also hit facilities associated with Iran’s defense ministry, resulting in minor damage, according to Tasnim news agency.

Rescuers from the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) are actively engaged in efforts to locate victims following an Israeli strike that targeted a residential building in Narmak, northeastern Tehran, overnight.
