Third stage of Iran’s naval wargames held

Another stage of the major ‘Velayat 89’ naval exercises has been held in the strategic Hormuz Strait and the Oman Sea to show Iran’s capabilities to defend itself against any aggression.

The third stage of the war games on Friday saw all Iranian air and naval forces bring the waters of the Sea of Oman and eastern parts of the Strait of Hormuz under their control.

The exercises also featured electronic and counter-electronic warfare.

In the operations, they also showed off collecting information via radar and military monitoring systems.

The war games are carried out in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the northern parts of the Indian Ocean covering an area of over 250,000 square kilometers.
