Sleiman Meets in New York with Rouhani

Lebanese President, Michel Sleiman, on Wednesday met in New York with the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, at UN headquarters in New York.

Sheikh Rouhani asserted during the meeting that e solution to the Syrian crisis is political.

“Rouhani also hoped to calm the current tension with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain,” the same source added.

Sleiman also met with his Turkish counterpart, Abdullah Gul, and later on met with the Qatari Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Qatari Embassy in New York.

Besides, Sleiman met with Russia’s Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov.

Lavrov stressed to President Sleiman that Russia will grant Lebanon financial support and announced that Lebanon will attend Geneva II as a Syria neighboring country.
