Solidarity march with hunger striking prisoners in Nablus

Palestinians in the West Bank city of Nablus took to the streets on Thursday afternoon in solidarity with Palestinian hunger striking detainees in Israeli jails.

The peaceful march, which was organized by Palestinian factions and popular committees, headed to Huwara military barrier, south of Nablus city.

Families of prisoners along with students and activists participated in the march. They carried Palestinian flags and photos of striking detainees and chanted calls for supporting the hunger strikers.

Israeli occupation forces closed Huwara checkpoint in both directions and blocked the solidarity march as well as traffic.

Head of Palestinian Prisoner Society, Raed Amer, called for organizing more solidarity events with the striking captives.
