Zionist regime conducts missile attack on Syrian capital resulting in seven fatalities

The Syrian Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation of an Israeli airstrike targeting the capital city of Damascus, which has resulted in the deaths of seven individuals and left numerous others injured.

On Tuesday, Israeli missiles targeted and struck a residential building in the Mezzah neighborhood, located west of Damascus.

The Syrian military has reported that an assault resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals, among them women and children, while leaving eleven others injured.

At approximately 20:15 on Tuesday, Israeli forces carried out an airstrike involving three missiles from the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting a residential building in Damascus’s heavily populated Mezzah neighborhood, a Syrian military source reported to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). The attack resulted in the deaths of seven civilians, including women and children, and injured 11 others, according to initial reports. Substantial material damage to properties was also reported.

According to the source, efforts are currently in progress to rescue additional individuals trapped beneath the rubble.

On Tuesday evening, Syria’s Foreign Ministry condemned what it described as a brutal crime by Israel, targeting defenseless civilians.

The ministry has described the strike as a continuation of what it claims to be Israel’s ongoing actions of violence in the region, extending into areas such as Lebanon and Palestine.

The Iranian embassy in Damascus has denounced the recent attack, characterizing it as a terrorist bombing. The embassy confirmed that there were no Iranian nationals among the victims.

Syria has persistently urged the United Nations Security Council to intervene and address what it perceives as explicit breaches of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, following a series of assaults.

Israel routinely conducts strikes on military sites within Syria, primarily targeting positions held by the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah. Hezbollah has been a pivotal ally to the Syrian government forces in their ongoing conflict against insurgents supported from abroad.

The Israeli government seldom provides public commentary on its military actions in Syria. These operations are often perceived as responses to the Syrian government’s significant achievements in combating and dismantling terrorist groups within its borders.

Damascus has repeatedly urged the United Nations Security Council to intervene and halt attacks by the regime that breach Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Recent Israeli military strikes on Syria coincide with the continuing conflict in the Gaza Strip, where the actions of the governing authorities have allegedly resulted in the deaths of over 41,600 individuals, predominantly women and children, during the past year.
