2 NATO soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Two more NATO soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan, raising to 181 the number of foreign troops killed in the war-torn country this year.

The western alliance says one of the troopers was killed by a roadside bomb. It added that the other soldier was slain by small arms fire.

Their nationalities and the exact locations of the attacks are still unknown.

The latest deaths take the number of foreign forces killed in Afghanistan this year to 181, according to I-Casualties.org, an independent website that tracks NATO military casualties.

Attacks against foreign troops in Afghanistan have recently been on the rise. Experts say the surge in violence comes ahead of NATO’s planned offensives against militants in the south and north of the country.

Last year, some 520 NATO soldiers were killed in the war-country.
