Straw: Nuclear energy is Iran’s right

Former British foreign secretary Jack Straw has condemned the failure of diplomatic efforts to solve the argument over Iran’s nuclear energy.

Jack Straw talking to IRNA , said he was “hopeful” of a resolution when Iran voluntarily suspended enriching uranium under the 2003 Tehran Declaration and subsequent Paris Agreement in 2004 to allow full negotiations. However he fell short of explaining why negotiators never fulfilled their duties under the agreements .

Straw has been a Labour MP for more than 30 have been involved in directly negotiating with Iran.

“I was hopeful but it was a very difficult issue, Iranian people have the reputation as hard negotiators and I suppose they feel we were too,” he said.

Straw has insisted that the former US president George W Bush “towards the end were seized to reach an understanding with Iran”. He also welcomed Barack Obama to accommodate with Iran in his Cairo speech.

Iranian figures have always dismissed the White House gestures as extension of cast iron hand in a velvet glove .
