Supreme Leader: National dignity breaks arrogant powers

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday that the Islamic Revolution brought dignity for the Iranian nation and its officials, a sense of self-esteem which broke the arrogant powers.

The Supreme Leader made the remark in a meeting with commander and senior officers of the Army’s Navy.

The Supreme Leader recalled the colonialist era during which the UK humiliated other nations by ignoring their civilizations and insinuating this notion that they were unable to administer their financial affairs in an attempt to get upper hand in dominating other nations.

‘During the Qajar and Pahlavi eras, Iranian officials were weak vis-à-vis the UK’s colonialist ambitions, but the Islamic Revolution brought dignity for the Iranian nation and officials. All people must appreciate the self-esteem they enjoy thanks to the Islamic Revolution.’

Elsewhere in his speech, the Supreme Leader honored the National Navy Day (November 27) and assigned the Navy to maintain security in territorial waters of the Persian Gulf.

The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said he was confident that the Navy will carry out momentous operations in the international waters whenever it deemed necessary.
