Iranian director Teymour Qaderi’s acclaimed short film is slated to contend for awards at the ninth edition of Geneva International Oriental Film Festival in Switzerland.
Qaderi’s film titled Pomegranate Is a Heavenly Fruit will be screened at the Competition section of the festival.
The 15-minutes short film is about a little girl whose parents prohibit her from going to school.
The film has been displayed in a number of international events and won several awards.
Qaderi’s creation received the best children film award at the fourth Suleymaniye Kurdish Film Festival.
The 2014 International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva (FIFOG) kicked off on April 4 and will run until April 13.
The year’s festival features some 100 films, along with over 60 guests, screened in twenty places from Geneva and Lausanne to Versoix and neighboring France.
