Syria Calls for Immediate Return of Iranian Contractors, Says Lawmaker
The spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission within Iran's Parliament has stated that there is a call from Syrians for the return of Iranian contractors to Syria. He mentioned that Iran is currently assessing this request.

On Tuesday, Ebrahim Rezaei, a prominent lawmaker, highlighted discussions from the latest Commission session, noting that Syria’s HTS-led regime’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, had already addressed the matter of Iranian contractors’ return to Syria.
Shaibani stated that Syrian authorities are requesting the return of Iranian contractors to Syria and that the matter is currently under review.
He stated that achieving this is feasible, provided that the necessary security measures are in place.
Rezaei commented on the situation in Syria, stating that “ISIL has gained strength in the region following recent developments supported by the United States. At the same time, the Zionist regime is unable to tolerate the presence of a robust government in Syria and its surrounding areas.”
A senior Iranian legislator emphasized the Islamic Republic’s commitment to supporting stability and advocating for the establishment of an inclusive government in Syria, ensuring the participation of all groups and the safeguarding of minority rights. The lawmaker stated that Iran is not in haste to reestablish relations with the Syrian government. Furthermore, Iran stands firmly against any form of insecurity and the potential partition of Syria, viewing such actions as threats to regional stability.
