During a recent public address, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro underscored his legitimate claim to power, asserting, “I was vested into office not by the United States or any other Latin American nation, but by the will of the people.” He emphasized his autonomy from external pressures, noting, “I am neither an authoritarian leader nor a subordinate to oligarchs or imperialists.”
