In a statement regarding Palestine, the Venezuelan president remarked on the triumphs of the Palestinian people, voicing optimism that the recent ceasefire might pave the way for the acknowledgment of an independent Palestinian state.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro officially assumed office for his third term on January 10, following his re-election.
