Syria foils infiltration attempt by Lebanese militants
Syrian Army forces have thwarted an attempt by a group of Lebanese militants to cross the border into the crisis-stricken country and join foreign-sponsored rebels.

According to Press TV, citing SANA, Lebanese gunmen fired at Syrian border guard personnel and law enforcement forces in the city of al-Quseir, 116 kilometer (72 miles) north of Damascus, on Wednesday.
Syrian government forces confronted the militants, killing a large number of them. A militant leader, identified as Mohammad Nour Qubji, was killed in the process.
There were no reports of causalities on the side of Syrian troops.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants in the country are foreign nationals.
