Iran, Ghana to boost agricultural cooperation

Iranian Minister of Agricultural Jihad Sadeq Khalilian and Ghana’s Deputy Foreign Minister Chris Kpodo discussed expansion of mutual cooperation, specially in Agricultural fields.

During the meeting held in Tehran on Tuesday, the Iranian minister underlined resolve of the two countries’ high-ranking officials to expand mutual cooperation, and stated, “Thus far, there has fortunately been good political and economic relations between the two countries, which we hope would continue to expand.”

“Ghana enjoys a good stand in the African continent and this can help expand the two countries’ strategic cooperation,” the minister added.

There are ample capacities and capabilities existing on both sides that should be identified and utilized for developing cooperation between Iran and Ghana, Khalilian noted.

He also underlined importance of the implementation of the agreements held by the two sides’ joint economic commissions.

During the meeting, Kpodo called for Iran-Ghana continued cooperation and exchange of the two sides’ experiences.

“We are taking preliminary steps to hold the two countries’ joint economic commission meeting in Ghana in a bid to further bolster our cooperation,” Kpodo added.
