Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Repels ISIL’s Heavy Offensives in Eastern Homs

Terrorists sustained over a dozen casualties in a number of attacks warded off by the Syrian army in the Badiyeh (desert) of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in Eastern Homs in the last 24 hours.

The Syrian army fended off ISIL’s attacks in Humeimeh region, near T2 Oil Pumping Station, al-Wa’ab Dam, al-Mo’ayzeliyeh, near Awiraz Dam and East of T3 Oil Pumping Station in Eastern Badiyeh (desert) of Homs.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Homs

The Syrian Army troops, backed up by the country’s Air Force, fended off a number of attacks by the ISIL in Badiyeh of Palmyra Eastern Homs, inflicting major losses on the terrorists in the last 24 hours.

The army men fended off ISIL’s attacks in Humeimeh region, near T2 Oil Pumping Station, al-Wa’ab Dam, al-Mo’ayzeliyeh, near Awiraz Dam and East of T3 Oil Pumping Station in Eastern Badiyeh of Homs.

The army men inflicted heavy casualties on the terrorists and forced their remaining pockets to retreat.

In the meantime, the army aircraft pounded ISIL’s movements and positions in Eastern Badiyeh of Homs, destroying several vehicles and a large volume of military equipment.

Hama

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units opened heavy fire at Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) in Northern Hama, destroying their equipment and killing a number of terrorists on Tuesday.

The artillery and missile units pounded Tahrir al-Sham’s positions in Kafr Zita and al-Latamina regions in Northern Hama, inflicting at least a dozen casualties on the terrorists and destroying their bases and equipment.

In the meantime, movements of a terrorist group along al-Ankawi-Qlidin road in Northwestern Hama came under army fire, leaving several vehicles destroyed and their crew dead.

Dara’a

The Syrian Army troops stormed the positions of the terrorists in Northeastern Dara’a and captured a strategic region, field sources reported.

The sources said that the army men engaged in a tough battle with the terrorists in Air Defense Battalion Base near the town of Masikeh and managed to seize control over the region.

Meanwhile, the sources said that the army sent hundreds of fresh forces to the 34th Brigade Base and Rajm Folous and al-Ma’asara regions North of al-Lajah region to reinvigorate its combat capabilities in the region.

Militant sources stated earlier on Tuesday that the terrorist groups in Dara’a province set up new operation rooms and launched an offensive as the Syrian Army is preparing for an imminent major operation to end militancy in the Southern part of the country.

Commander of Firqa al-Soud al-Sunah terrorist group Abu Omar al-Zaqloul said gunmen of the Southern Front and other groups deployed in Dara’a have embarked on setting up operation rooms to face the army’s imminent attack.

In the meantime, the terrorists, deployed in Dara’a al-Balad and Mokhim al-Nazehin districts in Dara’a city, launched artillery and missile attacks on residential areas in the neighborhoods of al-Sahari, al-Matar, Shamal al-Khat and al-Kashef, killing a child and wounding several others.

Several residential units were also destroyed in terrorists’ attack on al-Dhahiyeh region in Dara’a city.

Also, terrorists of Eastern Dara’a launched missile attacks on several neighborhoods in Sweida city.

The army’s artillery and missile units responded to the terrorists’ fires and targeted their positions, inflicting major losses on them.

Quneitra

The Syrian Army troops engaged in heavy fighting with terrorists in Northern Quneitra and repelled their attack on Tuesday.

The army men exchanged heavy fire with terrorists deployed in Un Bateneh region and fended off their attack on the village of Jaba and Tal Koroum Jaba in Northern Quneitra.

The terrorists suffered heavy casualties and retreated after leaving behind their military equipment.

In the meantime, the army’s artillery units pounded the positions of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at in the village of al-Hamidiyeh in Quneitra province, destroying a number of their strongholds used by the militants to open fire at residential areas in the town of al-Ba’ath.

Sweida

The Syrian Army troops continued their operation in Badiyeh of Sweida, driving ISIL terrorists out of more regions on Tuesday.

The army men engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL and captured a vast region in Northeastern Sweida after imposing control over Tal Ar Ar in Tal al-Asfar region.

The army soldiers further managed to push ISIL back from Shenwan al-Saqiyeh and Khirbet al-Ambashi region and seized several key points.

In the meantime, local sources reported that the army men advanced against ISIL some 6km in Tal Asfar and 4km in Shendan.

The sources said that the army’s artillery and missile units pounded terrorists’ movements and positions in Northeastern Sweida, inflicting major losses on the terrorists.
