Syria in Last 24 Hours: ISIL Repels Terrorists’ Attack on Strategic Missile Site near Deir Ezzur Airport

The Syrian troops thwarted a terrorist suicide attack on a missile base near Deir Ezzur military airport in Eastern Syria.
The army units hit the vehicle of a suicide bomber before it could reach and explode itself near the building of the army’s missile unit.

The ISIL confirmed the Syrian army’s successful operation for defusing the attack on its website.

Also in the past 24 hours, the ISIL terrorist group withdrew from a strategic city in Homs province.

The Syrian army pushed back the ISIL terrorists from Tadmar city, killing over 100 of the terrorists, a military source told FNA.

Meantime, the Syrian warplanes attacked an ISIL caravan of 80 vehicles, killing over 120 terrorists in the attack.

Also, the sources close to the Lebanese Hezbollah Movement rejected the western media reports that the Al-Nusra Front has taken back a strategic hill in Al-Qalamoun in Damascus countryside in Southern Syria.

The Arabic-language Al-Manar TV, deemed as the media arm of the Hezbollah Movement, reported that the Moussa hilltop in Al-Qalamoun is still in control of the Syrian army and Hezbollah forces.

Elsewhere, the Al-Nusra Front group killed half a dozen members of the ISIL as the infighting between the Takfiri terrorist groups has intensified.

Abu Malek al-Teli, the Al-Nusra leader, confirmed that his men have killed 6 ISIL members, Lebanese news website Al-Nashreh reported.

The executed ISIL members had been taken as hostage along with 17 others in Arsal heights.

The ISIL has also accused Al Nusra Front of abducting one of its commanders named Abu Dajaneh Ebadeh in Eastern Ghouta.

Meantime, informed sources confirmed the killing and wounding of scores of terrorists in the Syrian Army’s operations in the Southern province of Dara’a.

The sources said that the terrorists’ strongholds in the Northern part of Dael town were massively raided by the army men, who killed or wounded dozens of the fighters in the battlefront.

The sources went on to say that the army also staged fresh round of attacks against the militant groups’ positions in Kark and al-Bajabijeh areas in Dara’a al-Balad neighborhood, which resulted in the killing of several fighters.

Elsewhere, militants failed in their large-scale offensive on Syrian army positions in the Eastern countryside of Hama.

Military sources in the province said that the rebel groups’ attempts to infiltrate into al-Sabbourah-Etheria, SyriaTel, and al-Rihraha areas in Hama Eastern countryside were foiled by the Syrian army men.

The sources added that scores of militants were killed or wounded by the army troops in the abovementioned battle.

Also, the Syrian Armed Forces stormed positions of the al-Nusra Front in the surrounding areas of Jabal al-Arbaeen in the Northwestern province of Idlib and pushed back militants from the fighting areas.

The military sources in the province said that several terrorists were killed or wounded in the army’s operations in the strategic mountain of Jabal al-Arbaeen, and meantime, the army men accessed better monitoring position over the battlefields in the region.

Elsewhere, the Syrian army troops killed five senior commanders of the ISIL group in an attack in Eastern Syria.

The Syrian army killed 5 ISIL commanders in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur on Sunday. The slain ISIL ringleaders were identified as Saudi, Turkish, Chechen, Jordanian and Iraqi nationals.
