Syria in Last 24 Hours: Tahrir Al-Sham Terrorists Sustain Heavy Losses in Foiled Attacks in Hama, Idlib

The Damascus Army fended off fresh attacks by Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay'at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) from the demilitarized zone in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on the terrorists.

The Syrian Army’s artillery and missile units pounded the movements and military positions of Tahrir al-Sham terrorists in the villages of Shahr Naz, Shourlin, al-Karkat and al-Sharieh in Shahshabou Jabal in Northwestern Hama towards their military points in the region. 

The Damascus Army also pounded the military positions and movements of the terrorists in the surrounding areas of Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib, killing a number of militants and destroying several of their positions.

Meantime, the Syrian army continued its military advances in other parts of Syria over past 24 hours.

Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more were injured during the Syrian army’s operations in provinces across Syria.

Hama-Idlib

The Syrian Army warded off fresh attacks by Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at from the demilitarized zone in Northern Hama and Southern Idlib, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on the terrorists.

A military source, meantime, said that a large number of terrorists, most of them from foreign countries, were killed and several of their important positions and hideouts were also destroyed.

The Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper, meantime, reported that the Syrian Army also pounded the military positions and movements of the terrorists in the surrounding areas of Khan Sheikhoun in Southern Idlib, killing a number of militants and destroying several of their positions.

Deir Ezzur

The US plans to occupy the strategic border regions in Eastern Deir Ezzur, including the cities of Bukamal and al-Mayadeen, through launching attacks and urging the US-backed militants to recruit more forces in besieged al-Rukban Camp, Syrian media said.

The Arabic-language Al-Watan newspaper quoted sources close to militants as saying that the US-backed Jeish Maghavir al-Thura has forced tens of youth in al-Rukban Camp to join their ranks in al-Tanf region near the borders with Iraq.

It pointed to the intensive military training given to the people, including light and heavy weapons, and said this attempt is taking place in line with imminent US attack on the Syrian Army as well as an attempt to occupy the two strategic cities of Bukamal and al-Mayadeen in Eastern Deir Ezzur.

Al-Watan newspaper also quoted informed sources as saying that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) backed up by the US-led coalition forces have dispatched elite forces to al-Amr Oil Region.

The sources also pointed to efforts by the SDF to send further equipment to the region, and said that the main aim for this operation is cutting the international Beirut-Damascus-Baghdad-Tehran road.

Homs

The ISIL terrorists launched an offensive on Syrian Army military points in Badiyeh (desert) region of Homs province, as battlefield sources said the raid by ISIL came in coordination with the US-backed militants.

The Syrian Army troops engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists who intended to penetrate into military points in al-Sukhna Desert in Eastern Homs, battlefield sources in Eastern Homs said.

The sources said several ISIL terrorists were killed after their vehicles came under strike by the Syrian Air Force.
