At least 14 Palestinian youths were injured, including six with live bullets, while dozens others suffered breathing difficulties after inhaling tear gas during clashes that erupted late Monday near Qalandia checkpoint.

The clashes broke out following the funeral of the Palestinian teen Mohamed Abu Latifa, 18, who was shot killed during an Israeli raid campaign in Qalandia refugee camp on Monday morning.

During the clashes, local youths threw stones and empty bottles at Israeli soldiers stationed in large numbers at the military checkpoint.

On the other hand, Israeli soldiers heavily fired live and rubber bullets towards the youths in addition to tear gas bombs. No arrests were reported during the confrontations.

Thousands of Palestinians marched in the funeral procession in Qalandia camp to the north of occupied Jerusalem amid calls for revenge.

The martyr Abu Latifa was shot dead after Israeli soldiers stormed his home and tried to detain him. He was arrested despite his critical injuries and then delivered after three hours to the Palestinian Red Crescent a dead body.
