Syria in Past 24 Hours: Heavy Casualties, Damages Inflicted on Terrorists in Aleppo

The Syrian army and its allies continued to advance in different parts of Aleppo province, killing and wounding over 100 terrorists and destroying their positions, weapons and vehicles.

Aleppo

Tens of terrorists, including a notorious commander of Ahrar al-Sham, were killed in a tough battle in Sheikh Saeed district in Southern Aleppo.

Field Commander of Ahrar al-Sham Abu Hareth al-Halabi along with tens of militants from this and other terrorists groups affiliated to Jeish al-Fatah coalition were killed in Sheikh Saeed battlefield.

A field source disclosed that the Syrian army’s advance against militants has slowed down as hundreds of militants are now fighting against the government troops in Sheikh Saeed.

The army soldiers, the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iraqi al-Nujaba fighters have started a fresh phase of offensives in Sheikh Saeed and already managed to advanced to Sheikh Saeed bridge.

Also in the past 24 hours, terrorists of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) targeted areas near the Syrian government-established humanitarian corridors, blocking exit paths of civilians who sought to leave militant-held neighborhoods in the Eastern part of Aleppo city.

“The FSA militants deployed in Bostan al-Pasha district Northeast of Aleppo targeted the humanitarian corridors with mortar shells and gas cylinders and prevented at least 200 civilians from leaving the Eastern districts of Aleppo city,” Member of the Syrian Democratic Council Rizan Hadou said.

“200 civilians tried to leave the Eastern districts of Aleppo but faced heavy fire of the terrorists in a neighborhood between the districts of Sheikh Maqsoud and Bostan al-Pasha and were forced to return again to Bostan al-Pasha,” Hadou added.

Also, on Wednesday, Syrian Army soldiers continued their advances against the Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups in the Eastern part of Aleppo city, capturing more lands in the region after hours of fierce clashes.

After the liberation of the strategic al-Zohour heights that is near Old Sheikh Najjar Industrial Zone and taking control over Hananou Housing Project, the terrorists’ positions and control have been significantly weakened in the Eastern part of Aleppo.

In their large-scale operation, the army soldiers and popular forces advanced against terrorists in the flank near the factories in Old Sheikh Najjar and Jabal Badrou district.

The army men managed to fortify their positions in a major part of Arz al-Hamra and Jabal Badrou and expanded their offensives against militants in the Youth Housing Project and the Hananou Housing Project and advanced in these two battlefields too.

Jabal Badrou is adjacent to Sheikh Najjar and Aleppo international airport and the current battle in this region could decide the fate of the war in Eastern Aleppo.

Pro-government forces, meantime, took control of several workshops in the Old Sheikh Najjar Industrial Zone.

Also in the past 24 hours, Syrian Army soldiers and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters continued to drive Jeish al-Fatah terrorists out of more key positions in Aleppo city and won back a key highway South of Sheikh Saeed district.

The army men and Hezbollah fighters, who started a fresh phase of attacks in Sheikh Saeed on Tuesday, managed to capture more positions in the Southern part of the district.

Pro-government forces took control of the Housing Company and the key highway that connects Aleppo international airport to al-Ramouseh region.

An army commander said on Wednesday that over 100 terrorists, including three notorious commanders, were killed in clashes with the Syrian Army and popular forces in Sheikh Saeed district South of Aleppo city in last 48 hours.

“In addition to the liberation of several key positions and areas in the government forces’ offensives on Tuesday and Wednesday, over 100 terrorists, including Commander of Nouralddeen al-Zinki Omar Haji, have been killed in Sheikh Saeed battlefields,” the commander said.

Terrorist-linked websites also confirmed that two commanders of Karam al-Jabal Shohada Battaion, namely Haj Aziz Khan Toumani and Ahmad Bi San, have also been killed in clashes with the Syrian soldiers in Aleppo.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian Army troops continued to clash with ISIL terrorists near al-Thardah mountain and Deir Ezzur airbase, inflicting major casualties on the militants.

The army men engaged in heavy fighting with ISIL near al-Thardah mountain Southwest of Deir Ezzur city, while other units of the army engaged in fierce clashes with the terrorists near the Airbase South of the city.

Fighting has been underway between the army men and ISIL terrorists in al-Thardah mountain and South of the Airbase ever since the US-led coalition airstrikes on Syrian army positions near Deir Ezzur two months ago.

In the meantime, the army men repelled ISIL’s attack to capture al-Jafrah to arrive at the Eastern gate of Deir Ezzur airbase.

Damascus

The Syrian Army troops continued to storm Jeish al-Islam terrorists’ positions in Eastern Ghouta of Damascus and came close to Douma city.

The army soldiers struck more victories against terrorists of Jeish al-Islam near the strategic town of Meida’ani and came closer to the city of Douma, the main stronghold of Jeish al-Islam in region.

Backed up by the Syrian fighter jets, the army men stormed terrorists’ defense lines in Meida’ani and managed to advance against them.

Terrorist-affiliated websites also disclosed that concurrent with army advances and its capture of over seven farms near Meida’ani, the rebels of Jeish al-Islam retreated from several bases in the town.

“The army attack on terrorists in Meida’ani inflicted a heavy blow to Jeish al-Islam, because this town is one of the most important strongholds of the terrorists and is seen as their center of gravity in the region,” a Syrian military source said.

The source further added that the army soldiers are on the threshold of cutting off one of the main lines of terrorists’ movements from the town of al-Dhamir to Douma and will soon tighten siege on the terrorists.

“After the army control over Meida’ani, the government forces will arrive at al-Nashabiyeh region which is called by the terrorists as the first defense line of Douma,’ the source underlined.

Homs

Syrian Army soldiers fended off ISIL’s offensive on a military airport near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in Eastern Homs, killing a number of terrorists.

The army soldiers engaged in fierce clashes with the ISIL terrorists and repelled their attack on Palmyra’s airbase, killing and wounding a number of militants.

The army men also managed to advance against ISIL near the village of Huweises and Tal (hill) al-Sawaneh in Eastern Homs, killing several militants and destroying their vehicles.

The army men, backed up by the Russian and Syrian warplanes, targeted the concentration centers of ISIL in the town of al-Sukhnah, the village of al-Tibeh, Jabal (mount) Satih in Norhtern Homs, inflicting heavy death toll on the militants.

The Syrian army also engaged in heavy fighting with a group of terrorists in al-Bakiyeh farms West of the town of Um Sharshouh, killing the entire members of the group.

Also, tens of terrorists from ISIL and Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) were killed in attacks carried out by the Syrian army soldiers and warplanes in Eastern and Northern Homs on Tuesday.

The army soldiers fended off ISIL’s offensive from the village of Rahoum on government positions near the village of Taloul al-Hawa in Eastern Homs, killing most of the militants.

The army also targeted ISIL’s movements in Tal (Hill) al-Awamid toward the town of al-Quaryatayn in Eastern Homs, killing tens of militants.

Also in the past 24 hours, Syrian and Russian warplanes carried out joint airstrikes over the largest military training camp of ISIL terrorist group in Eastern Homs, killing at least 70 militants and destroying the camp.

In a joint air raid, the Russian and Syrian fighter jets targeted ISIL’s training camp in the town of al-Sukhnah, killing tens of recruits, fighters and their trainers.

A large number of militants had been trained in the camp, Taloul, and dispatched to the province of Raqqa and Deir Ezzur.

Reports said the camp, its military grid and military vehicles were completely destroyed in the air assault.

Over 70 militants were killed and many more were wounded in the air raid.

Quneitra

Syrian Army soldiers and National Defense Forces started fresh attacks on terrorists’ defense lines in Northern Quneitra, capturing over 1.5 square kilometers in the first hours of their offensive.

The pro-government forces stormed terrorists’ positions North of al-Seriyeh al-Rabe’eh region and took back at least 1.5 square kilometers of land from the militants.

The army men and popular forces carried out a surprise attack on terrorists’ centers in al-Naqar al-Gharbi region to the North of al-Seriyeh al-Rabe’eh region, inflicting a heavy death toll on the militants and capturing key lands in the battlefield.

The army men also restored security to the road connecting the two towns of al-Amal and Hadhar.

The Syrian army soldiers meantime targeted several military vehicles of the terrorists on a road to al-Kasareh near the town of Toranjeh, killing and wounding the militants on board.

With cleansing this strategic region, a new path will open for popular forces to the town of Hadhar and meantime dispatch of fresh forces and equipment to the region will be easier.

In the meantime, the government forces will be capable of pressing terrorists deployed in al-Hamriyeh height on the Southern side of the town of Hadhar.

Also, on Wednesday, Syrian Army soldiers targeted the concentration centers and positions of Fatah al-Sham Front in the Southern provinces of Dara’a and Quneitra, inflicting major casualties on the terrorists.

The army’s artillery units shelled the positions of Fatah al-Sham near Tal (hill) al-Hamriyeh and in the villages of Zorat al-Kasreh and Karoum al-Kashat South of Hadhar village in Northern Quneitra, killing and wounding a number of terrorists and destroying their vehicles, arms and ammunition.

The army soldiers also targeted Fatah al-Sham’s positions on the Western side of the refugee camp in Dara’a al-Balad district in Dara’a city, inflicting a number of casualties on them and destroying one of their main positions, weapons and munitions.

Lattakia

The Syrian army units, supported by Desert Hawks, started massive operations in the Northern and Northeastern parts of Lattakia province to liberate Hassan al-Rae’i mountains and destroy the terrorists’ operations room.

A field source said on Wednesday that the main goal of these operations is firstly, cleansing the terrorists from the region which is one of the most important bases of Jeish al-Fatah and then, paralyzing the militants and smashing their operation rooms in the region.

“After the Syrian army forces retake control of Jabal al-Rae’i mountains, they will also gain superiority over the terrorists in the nearby towns bordering Idlib. The Syrian artillery, missile and air force units are also due to target the terrorists’ positions in the Northern towns near the border with Idlib,” he added.

The Jeish al-Fatah terrorist group and the Takfiri Chechnian and Caucasian militants have occupied a number of towns and mountains, including Navarah, Zaitounah, Qelez, Salsour and Kabani, in Lattakia but 93% of the province’s territories have been purged of terrorists.

Idlib, Hama

The Syrian fighter jets carried out tens of sorties over the terrorists’ supply routes which link Idlib and Hama provinces to Aleppo to prevent transfer of fighters, weapons and ammunition.

Concurrent with the continuation of the Syrian army’s anti-terrorism operations in different parts of Aleppo city, the army aircraft carried out several combat flights over the supply roads used by the terrorists in the provinces of Idlib and Hama in order to prevent dispatch of fresh militants and equipment to the terrorist groups in Aleppo.

The Syrian bombers targeted a long convoy of terrorists’ vehicles on Hama-Idlib highway that is one of the terrorists’ most important lines of movements, killing a number of Jeish al-Fatah’s terrorists and destroying their military vehicles.

The warplanes bombed terrorists’ positions in the towns and villages of Saraqib, Ma’arat al-Nu’aman, Khan Sheikhoun, Taftnaz, Banish, al-Latamina, Taybat al-Imam and Kafr Zita.

A military source said that the Syrian fighter jets are flying continuously over the militant-held regions in Hama and Idlib to monitor the supply lines to Aleppo, adding that since army’s large-scale operations are underway in Aleppo, the country’s warplanes are monitoring terrorists’ communication lines to this province.
