A prominent analyst underlined that the Syrian army has become reinvigorated by Iran and Russia’s military assistance, adding that Saudi Arabia is losing all its winning cards in the Arab country.

“The Syrian army’s major advances in several fronts show that it has taken the initiative today,” Turky Hassan told FNA on Monday.

He underscored the importance of friendly countries’ aid, including Russia’s airstrikes and Iran’s advisory assistance, and said Saudi Arabia’s attempts to stop Russia’s military operations and its contacts with Turkey and Israel to strengthen the terrorists in Syria indicate that few winning cards have been left for Riyadh in Syria.

“Syria’s return to its natural situation through winning over the Zionist-Arab coalition’s hirelings will put the al-Saud exposed to political and military quakes which will lead to the collapse of the Saudi regime and vital developments in the Persian Gulf Arab sheikhdoms,” Hassan said.

The Syrian government’s forces launched a massive offensive after Russia’s Sukhoi Su-25, Su-24M and Su-34 attack aircraft, with the support of Su-30 jets, had commenced precision airstrikes against ISIL targets in Syria on September 30, following a request from Syrian President Bashar Assad.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, airstrikes have done considerable damage to ISIL command and logistics networks, as well as to infrastructure used to equip suicide bombers.

Latest reports said that the Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance forces seized back control over 21 regions in the Northern province of Aleppo in the last week.

The army and the resistance forces won back 12 regions only in the past 48 hours: 1-Tanks Battalion, 2-Qala’at Al-Najam village, 3-Hadadin village, 4-Al-Shahid hilltops, 5-Zeytouna Farms, 6-Al-Kabdar Garrison, 7-Mleiha Village, 8-Abtayn Village and its surrounding farms, 9-Al-Vazihi village, 10-Kodar village, 11-Al-Sabeqiya village and 12-Shaqidla town.

The Syrian army and Hezbollah forces also seized seven other regions in the Eastern countryside of Aleppo, including 1-Tal al-Naa’am, 2-Al-Naa’am town, 3-Al-Nasseriya town, 4-Heijeneh, 5- Howeija town, 6-Boqja town and 7-al-Barijieh

The army and the resistance forces also won back the regions of Kafr Tuna and al-Harra near the industrial city of Sheikh Najjar about a week ago.

The army operations backed by Hezbollah and Russian air force are presently underway in Aleppo province now.

The first major objective of the Syrian Armed Forces-Lebanese Resistance’s Southern Aleppo offensive was to recapture the ‘Azzan Mountains from the terrorists, while also creating a larger buffer-zone around the Syrian government’s only highway leading to the provincial capital.

Informed sources within the ranks of the Syria army said the army troops and Hezbollah forces are due to continue the operations in a second phase in the next two days.
