The Syrian Army launched a new offensive in the Eastern parts of Hama province, targeting the ISIL stronghold of al-Aqirabat along their supply route from Raqqa to Eastern Homs.

According to al-Masdar, the Syrian army, alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF) from al-Salamiyeh, liberated several points from the hands of the ISIL terrorists after killing and wounding several militants.

The Syrian army units retook control of al-Sawalem checkpoint, along with a number of points near the village of Fikan in al-Salamiyeh region.

The Syrian army and their allies are currently pushing Southeast towards al-Aqirabat, which is located in the ISIL’s heartland between East of Hama and East of Homs.

The Syrian army troops and Air Force targeted heavily the positions of Ahrar al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa in Northern Hama on Thursday after the terrorist groups’ missile units started attacks on residential areas in the town of al-Saqilbiyeh.

Missile units of Ahrar al-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa started shelling residential areas in al-Saqilbiyeh after the army men fended off two offensives of them in a region between Bridij and al-Moqayer in Northern Hama and managed to kill or injure over 150 terrorists.

Further in a retaliatory move, the army units targeted the position and movements of terrorist groups in the town of al-Banah and Tal Othman region, killing and wounding tens of militants.

In the meantime, the army aircraft carried out several rounds of combat flights over terrorist groups’ concentration centers in the village of al-Janabareh and near Tal (hill) Othman, inflicting several casualties on the terrorists.
