All states need nuclear technology

Indonesia’s Parliament Speaker Marzuki Ali says using nuclear technology for energy generation can bridge the gap between developed countries and the rest of the world.

In a meeting with Iranian ambassador to Indonesia, Mahmoud Farazandeh, Marzuki pointed to the depletion of fissile fuel reserves and said it was important for countries to look for other energy sources.

“All countries must move toward meeting their energy demands via nuclear technology, otherwise a huge gap will form between these countries and developed ones,” IRNA quoted Marzuki as saying.

The Indonesian official added that nuclear technology will pave the way for the progress of countries in different areas and this has caused fear in hegemonic powers.

“World powers are afraid of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program,” Marzuki added, stating that Indonesian parliamentarians support Iran’s nuclear program.

The Iranian envoy, for his part, said that Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) is ready to cooperate with the Indonesian legislature.
