Syrian Army Crosses Euphrates River in Deir Ezzur

 

The Syrian Army troops continued to advance against ISIL on the Western bank of the Euphrates River and crossed the River to deploy in the East.

The army soldiers crossed the left (Western) branch of the Euphrates River and carried out mop-up operation on the Northern outskirts of Deir Ezzur city.

The army men further stormed ISIL’s defense lines in Huweija al-Sakar and entered the region.

Meanwhile, the army’s engineering units built several military bridges over the river and transferred the pro-government forces and their military vehicles to the Northern outskirts of the city.

The Arabic-language al-Mayadeen tv network reported earlier today that the army men are ready to cross the right branch of the river.

More than 300 ISIL terrorists have been killed in Iraq’s air assaults in Iraq and Syria in the past six days, an Arab media outlet reported on Monday.

The Arabic-language Elam al-Harbi announced in a statement that the army aircraft targeted a number of ISIL positions in Akashat, Anna and al-Qaem regions in the past 6 days, destroying 42 positions and killing 306 terrorists and wounding tens of others, including several commanders.

The statement added that 120 terrorists, including 4 senior commanders were killed and 29 positions were destroyed in airstrikes on Akashat region.

Iraqi air raids on ISIL’s positions in al-Forat region near border with Syrian, al-Resaleh neighborhood in the town of al-Qa’em and al-Shishan region killed tens of terrorists, including four top commanders and bomb-making experts of ISIL and wounded scores more. An arms depot and a command center of the terrorists were also destroyed in the raids in al-Forat region.
