The Syrian army continues its intensive operations against foreign-backed militants in the country, inflicting major losses on their ranks.

Military operations against terrorist groups continued intensively on Thursday, targeting their vehicle convoys, hideout and gatherings in different cities in Syria.

Units of the army dealt heavy blows to the terrorists’ hideouts, killing and injuring many of them including the militants in Damascus suburbs.

The army also killed and injured many terrorists and destroyed a number of their vehicles in the central province of Homs.

Furthermore, army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, restored security and stability in some areas in the province of al-Hasakah. Up to 70 ISIL terrorists were killed yesterday in these areas, which are about 45 km south of Qamishli, a city in northeastern Syria on the border with Turkey.

Army units also killed scores of terrorists, including Egyptian, Libyan and Tunisian militants, in the provinces of Latakia, Idlib, Hama and Dara’a.

Terrorists’ vehicles destroyed during the operations were equipped with communications devices, loaded with ammo and equipped with heavy machine guns and a mortar launch pad.

Syria has been grappling with a deadly crisis since March 2011. ISIL and other militants have terrorized and killed people of all communities. They are engaged in crimes against humanity in the areas under their control.
